Paris Hilton's Doctor Seems Kinda Shady
June, 23 2007 - The man who was behind the claim that Paris Hilton was too "emotionally distraught and traumatized" to go to court for a slander suit placed on her by Zeta Graff is now being examined under the media microscope.
The man who was behind the claim that Paris Hilton was too "emotionally distraught and traumatized" to go to court for a slander suit placed on her by Zeta Graff is now being examined under the media microscope. Dr. Charles Sophy managed to get Hilton's court date for the suit postponed until after she had served her jail sentence, and was also instrumental (although it's not exactly clear how) in the short-lived attempt to have her serve her sentence under house arrest. And it seems that a close examination of the good doctor's credentials is revealing some interesting inconsistencies.
According to Radar, Sophy maintained on his website that he held an "Associate Clinical Professorship at the University of California, Los Angeles, Neuro-Psychiatric Institute." Until yesterday, that was the claim he made on his site, which has since been replaced with the explanation that his function at the university is that of an unpaid volunteer clinical instructor, and translates to "an entry-level position at best," according to Radar's unnamed source.
"He cannot claim himself to be a professor here by any means."
Radar also points out further discrepancies that hint at the doctor's tendency to not to clarify his experience exactly. For example, he is actually a doctor of osteopathy and not an M.D., as he is very frequently mistaken to be and for his part, he seems to do little to make this distinction well-known. If I were Dr. Sophy, I'd be all, "Well, think what you like about me, but at least I'm not Anna Nicole Smith's doctor. Cause that guy was seriously way more shady than me. I mean, come on. Did you see that picture of him at Gay Pride? I've never been to Gay Pride with Paris."
